Oh goodness, I think the week got away from me. How is it Friday already? As mentioned in my last post, Greyson is officially ONE and we celebrated his birthday with lots and lots of family over the weekend. In fact, I am STILL recovering from a full house and a sugar overload. But it was so much fun and I think Little G was awed and amazed at the amount of attention and gifts he received (a big THANK YOU to everyone!!).
I’m actually surprised at how well he did with the gift opening – I expected him to be more enthralled with the wrapping/tissue paper than the gift itself, but once he realized there were toys to be had, it was game on!
(gimme, Gimme, GIMME!)
It really is amazing how fast this kid is transforming into a toddler. Some of the faces and gestures he makes are so mature. Honestly, it’s a little weird to see such adult-like expressions on such a tiny face!
(…so a grasshopper walks into a bar and the bartender says “hey, we have a drink named after you” and the grasshopper says with a look of surprise, “you have a drink named Steve?!” Ha ha HA!)
I’ve heard people say that it happens in the blink of an eye, and it is so, so true. I’m definitely looking forward to all the activities we’ll enjoy together as he enters toddlerhood (I have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to toddler fun!), but I have no doubt I am going to look back on these days with longing (and think to myself, “man, I really had it easy!”).
You really have stolen my heart kiddo and I can’t wait to share in all of the adventures of this next year. Happy Big O-N-E!!!
